Description
The Ski:
The Blizzard Rustler 9 Skis have often been a hidden gem, a unique ski that excels on groomed slopes while retaining the versatility to navigate bumps and effortlessly maneuver through densely wooded terrain. This fresh, completely revamped version builds upon what many already considered nearly perfect, introducing a 4mm increase in width that boosts the ski's confidence when carving and cruising at high speeds, all while preserving its adaptable character. Blizzard achieves this by relocating the Titanal laminate from the ski's center to its perimeter, incorporating a distinct Titanal plate underfoot to isolate vibrations. Furthermore, they've upgraded the core with their proprietary TrueBlend design, employing three distinct types of wood in a precise arrangement, enabling an unprecedented level of flex tuning. Before committing to any other "all-mountain" ski, give this one a try; you'll be genuinely impressed.
Features:
- Rocker Type Rocker Camber Rocker – This ski profile features a rocker at the tip and tail, complemented by camber in the middle. Reducing edge pressure at the ski's tips and tails enhances manageability and flotation on powder snow, while the camber guarantees excellent grip on packed snow.
- Core TrueBlend Freeride Core – By blending Beech, Poplar, and Paulownia woods in a carefully calibrated mix tailored to the performance demands of each Rustler or Sheeva ski, the TrueBlend Free cores, while labor-intensive, enable exceptionally precise flex tuning.
- Laminates FluxForm – Two Titanal components run along the ski's length on either side, tapering towards the ski's extremities. Combined with a separate Titanal plate underfoot, this construction fosters precise edge grip and dampening beneath the foot while allowing the ski's tips and tails to flex freely. FluxForm varies according to the model, with the Rustler 9 incorporating more metal than the 10 or 11.
- Sidewalls Sandwich Compound Sidewall – Except for certain junior models, all Blizzard skis are constructed with ABS or Phenol sidewalls, ensuring top-tier performance in terms of stability, power transmission, handling, and durability.
- Base Sintered Graphite Base
The Bindings:
The Griffon 13 bindings, a lighter alternative to the Jester model, bring the same advanced features to younger and lighter riders. Renowned as a remarkably versatile freeride option, it's crafted for adept to expert skiers. Sporting the Triple Pivot Elite toe and Inter Pivot 3 freeride heel, these components offer both lightweight and rigidity, bolstering edge grip and control. The inclusion of the Anti Ice Rail simplifies the removal of snow and ice from boot soles. The binding's Multinorm capability facilitates adjustment to touring, GripWalk, or alpine boot sole norms. Notably, the Griffon 13 boasts reinforced screws and a centralized swing weight, optimizing performance for spins and twists.
